John Michael
John Michael moved to Lenexa in 2019 with his now-husband and knew quickly that this was home. He quickly got involved, receiving an appointment to the Lenexa Planning Commission by Mayor Boehm in early 2020 and joining the Comprehensive Plan steering committee just a couple years later. In January 2025, Mayor Julie Sayers appointed him to the vacant seat on Lenexa City Council, where he immediately jumped into the work and conversations on keeping Lenexa somewhere special.
